Frequently Asked Question

Installing iNODE from a USB storage device
Last Updated 2 years ago

iNODE version 1.9.2 and above can be installed from a USB storage device.

Versions 1.9.7 and above support both BIOS and UEFI boot systems and any utility that creates a bootable USB drive can be used

The recommended utility is Rufus: https://rufus.ie/

To create a bootable USB media, download the latest iso from this link below:

https://www.inode.gr/support_downloads.php?category_id=4

Download rufus utility and run it.

Insert the USB drive to a USB port and select the iso file to create the USB bootable media.

Note that this will erase all contents of the USB drive.

For older versions (1.9.2 to 1.9.6) booting from a USB media is only supported on BIOS systems. UEFI bootable machines are not supported.

For these versions you can only create a USB media using the UNetbootin utiliy.

Download the UNetbootin utility from https://unetbootin.github.io/

Now, run the UNetbootin utility.
Select the DISKIMAGE option.
Select ISO from the drop-down control.
Locate the ISO image on your disk using the button [...] on the right.
Finally, set Type to USB Drive and set Drive to the actual drive letter assigned by the OS.

Press OK and within few minutes the USB storage device will be ready.

When ready, boot the machine from the USB storage.
If everything is alright, you should see the following screen. Both options are the same thing.
If you don't press any key the iNODE installation will start in 5 seconds.
